Using the book "Care and Keeping of You" the discussion and activities include:
About Me Art Project: Child and adult create an easy about me art project to share at their table while they enjoy snacks.
Making Soap: Discussion about good hygiene and new needs their bodies may need. Finished with making a bar of soap each girl gets to take home.
Healthy Snack Plate: After learning about eating all the colors of the rainbow girls will make a healthy snack plate craft.
Pack a Period Kit: Using correct terminology and 3D models the girls will learn all about menstruation, what products can be used and how to use them, along with packing their own period kits.
Breathing Exercise: Growing up can be hard, so a calming breathing exercise is practiced and shared.
This fun hands on workshop will start gentle conversations about body changes & periods. Girls and parent will leave with resources to continue the discussions.
