Sometimes the smallest things can make someone's day a little brighter.
At Tulsa Period Pantry, we provide period products to students through our partner schools and youth serving organizations. Along with those products, we love being able to include a little something extra: a decorated canvas pouch or an encouraging card.
These are simple projects that groups can work on together, whether you're hosting a volunteer day at your office, planning a church activity, organizing a school service project, or just looking for a way to give back with friends and family.
And the best part? You don't have to be an artist to participate!
We have two easy projects your group can choose from.
Option 1: Decorate Canvas Pouches
Canvas pouches give students a reusable place to keep their period products in a backpack, purse, or locker. Your group can decorate plain canvas pouches with encouraging designs, colorful artwork, or simple messages.

Option 2: Create Encouraging Cards
A simple encouraging message can go a long way! We love including little notes of encouragement with the products we distribute. These cards are a reminder to students that they are strong, capable, and have people cheering them on. This is also a great activity for younger volunteers because it doesn't require any special supplies or artistic skills.
What you'll need:
What should you write?
Keep messages positive, uplifting, and encouraging. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
You can write a simple message or get creative with colorful lettering, drawings, borders, and stickers.

And remember, these don't need to be fancy. A handwritten note with a few encouraging words is exactly what we're looking for.

What Happens After Your Group Finishes?
Once your pouches and cards are ready, we would love to get them into the hands of the students we serve!
You can bring your completed items to one of our local DROP-OFF LOCATIONS.
Need to coordinate a different drop-off time? No problem! Just email us at hello@tulsaperiodpantry.org and we can help arrange a time that works.
Thank You for Being Part of This!
We are so grateful for groups who take the time to do something like this. Every pouch represents a little extra care, and every card is an opportunity to remind a student that they are seen, supported, and capable of great things. Whether your group makes 10 cards or decorates 100 pouches, your time and effort make a difference. Thank you for coming alongside Tulsa Period Pantry and helping us make a difference for students in our community! We couldn't do this without people like you.
